Support Families & Children in Iraq
Severe Poverty Since the 2003 U.S. Invasion
Since the illegal U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003, millions of children, women, and elderly people have been forced to live below the poverty line. Countless families endure inhumane conditions — surviving in tents or makeshift shelters after widespread destruction of homes and institutions.
Today, 1 in 4 Iraqi children suffers from malnutrition. An estimated 3–4 million children live on the streets or work in harsh labor instead of attending school. Many have lost one or both parents, while others come from families devastated by economic collapse.
All this has occurred under the watch of the United Nations and occupying forces, which failed to fulfill their legal obligations to protect civilians. Years of instability, corruption, and resource exploitation have left deep scars.
UDRF Response
In response, UDRF is launching an urgent humanitarian campaign to provide shelter, food, medical aid, and basic support to orphans and vulnerable families who lack safe housing and stable income.
